Love

It seems so much of our lives is devoted to this strange entity. There are many theories as to what it actually is though.
Webster's first definition says "strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties," but I doubt that covers it. Much of the rest talks about affection and desire, which somehow doesn't capures it for me.

What, then, do quotes have to offer?
"Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence."
H. L. Mencken

"Love is, above all else, the gift of oneself."
Jean Anouilh

"Love takes off masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within."
James Baldwin

"The best proof of love is trust."
Joyce Brothers

"Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get--only with what you are expecting to give--which is everything.""
Katherine Hepburn

"To fear love is to fear life, and those who fear life are already three parts dead."
Bertrand Russell

"The art of love is largely the art of persistence."
Albert Ellis

"Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings."
Anais Nin

"Why love if losing hurts so much? We love to know that we are not alone."
C. S. Lewis

"Could you imagine how horrible things would be if we always told others how we felt? Life would be intolerably bearable."
Randy K. Milholland

"You call it madness, but I call it love."
Don Byas

"To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved."
George MacDonald

"Your body needs to be held and to hold, to be touched and to touch. None of these needs is to be despised, denied, or repressed. But you have to keep searching for your body's deeper need, the need for genuine love. Every time you are able to go beyond the body's superficial desires for love, you are bringing your body home and moving toward integration and unity."
Henri Nouwen

"Love is like pi - natural, irrational, and very important."
Lisa Hoffman

"Love does not die easily. It is a living thing. It thrives in the face of all of life's hazards, save one -- neglect."

"Love is giving someone the power to destroy you and trusting them not to"

And the list goes on. There are so many opinions to be heard, and not all of them agree. It seems the best definition "You'll know"
Great.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

The longest offical town name in the UK
it means "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the rapid whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave" in welsh

I found it amusing and decided to share it with whoever reads this.
